Over the past year, we’ve heard a ton of information about the state of the economy, and of course, you may be a bit fearful. Fear is part of life- I get it! I’d be remiss to act as though fear doesn’t exist, right?
But, my take is, fear can be used to find opportunity or fear can be used as a catalyst for despair. We each have the power to decide how to use our fear.
You may think I’m nuts.
Find opportunity in fear? How?
Well, in every experience you have the opportunity to learn, to grow, to teach. Whatever you are fearful of, when you face it, you will amaze yourself. This will open you up to limitless possibilities. Belief in one’s self is the foundation for success.
Deadbolt the Door to Negativity
If we choose the latter (despair) when we are fearful, we tend to focus on the things that we can’t control or the things that we just don’t know. This will just create more fear, more uncertainty, and open the door for negativity to come invade your life.
Keep On Movin’
If you flip your focus to what you can do, you’ll see and feel an incredible shift in not only your attitude, but your productivity and progress towards reaching your goal! Think about it- if you were driving and there was a detour sign, would you just pull over off the road and forget your trip altogether? Would you focus on the fact that you can’t take that particular road? Or would you re-route- find another way to get to your destination? Chances are you’d re-route! By focusing on the what you can do, you keep moving forward!

Thank you SO much for this post. A great reminder that I can’t prevent fear, but how I respond is always a choice. A timely metaphor: It is COLD here in the Northwest, so going for a daily walk is not pleasant if all I focus on is how cold I am. I’m learning instead to embrace and appreciate the cold while I am mindful of the wintery beauty around me (yes, I know technically it is still autumn). One thing the cold brings for sure: I am definitely AWAKE during my walk. And so, I suppose, fear is a wake up call too. Thanks again.
