About six months ago, Millana and I went to a local shelter to bring some cleaning supplies. When we went inside, we were saddened by the condition of the housing. This image stuck in my mind for over a month, until miraculously one day I received an email from a woman asking me to write a blog about an amazing “inspirista” Terry Grahl.
I went to Terry’s website to research who she was, and was astonished when I read that she founded an organization called “Enchanted Makeovers” whose mission is to transform shelters for women and children into heartwarming havens. There are no coincidences.
Well, I am honored to now be partnering with this incredible non-profit organization, Cre8tive Sisters, and Lisa Gundersen Umansky to do an event in NJ, called “The Journey… Discovering Our Inner Treasures”. This Inner Transformational weekend retreat will be held at Saint Joseph’s Home…Transitional Housing for Women in Jersey City, NJ.
The Events will be held in St. Joseph’s auditorium:
Day 1…October 16th: Yoga Class, How to Journal, Mural Class & Folk Singer.
Day 2…October 17th: Facials, Hairdressers, Make-up Artists, Dinner & A Special Balloon Ceremony.
Guest Speaker Edie Weinstein blogger for Beliefnet will share a magical story during dinner about what it all means when we find our inner treasures!
Everything for the event is donated, and we’ve been so fortunate to receive many donations already!! Some of them include: slippers, pillowcases, “believe” notecard packs, yoga mats, journals, and food for the luncheon. Services have also been donated, such as make-up artists, hairdressers, a Folk singer, and speakers.
We are still in need of sponsors and donations for the 25 women and children, including:
* Any new or handmade gift to give to the women
* Handmade or retail necklaces, earrings, bracelets
* Handcrafted pillows, quilts, or artwork
* Anything inspirational – signs, pictures, etc.
* New or gently used children’s books
* Crayons and coloring books
* Yoga instructors and hairdressers
* Inspirational tee shirts

I’m so excited to know that Terry is bringing her gift to Jersey City. I “met” Terry online when I was researching organizations that decorate women’s facilities because I wanted to start volunteering my services to local shelters. She has been a mentor and inspiration to me and I’d love to help with this event in any way that I can.
Yes- I feel very blessed that she is coming to NJ for this event! I also met her online, and she is so inspiring!! I will let her know you are available to help out, too!! Thank you so much
Warmly, Jennifer
