Take Advantage of “Little You” Moments

Little “You” Moments are the best moments, and the easiest to fit seamlessly into your life! By taking advantage of Little “You” Moments, you are practicing self-care at a proactive, preventative level.

You may be thinking- What is this crazy girl talking about?

I know it may sound like mumbo-jumbo at first!

Self-care on a preventative level means that you’ll just feel great most of the time, and you won’t have a total meltdown where you suddenly book a two-week yoga retreat and blow thousands of dollars to fly back home and get no “you-time” for months just to make up for the last minute getaway. That would be self-care on a reactionary level. Hey, I’m not knocking it! Sometimes things happen and we react! But, the more you take advantage of the Little “You” Moments, the less likely you are to have a big “You” blowup!!

Little “You” Moments include the way your space is designed, the music you listen to in the car, the lotions you use, the face wash you choose, the shampoo scent in the shower, the weekly at-home exfoliation made from raw sugar and soap. Little “You” Moments make up the way you live your life. Most of the time, it’s just being aware of all of the opportunities you have to take care of you- remember it’s not selfish, it’s necessary to be the best version of yourself when you are taking care of everyone else.

So, look, even the busiest of women have to bathe, so make your shower your spa retreat!! Do simple, nice things for yourself regularly, use your senses to begin identifying Little “You” Moments, and you’ll start to feel pampered for pennies!

Here are 5 of my favorite Little “You” Moments:

1. Applying an at-home facial mask (I like to pretend I am at Bliss Spa and wear a white robe and head-band while doing this)

2. Drinking morning coffee (TGFAB- Thank God for the Auto-Brew, ready and waiting!!)

3. Using coconut-scented shampoo and conditioner (can you say Island-Retreat?)

4. Singing songs loudly while driving (in my next life I will be a Broadway singer, in this one I am totally off-pitch, but I love to belt it anyway!!)

5. Soft sheets, just out of the dryer (Bonus points for high thread count, matching to comforter)

What are some of your favorite “Little You” moments? I’d love to hear!
